
AMHERST — Ade “A.J.” Schreiber, age 61, of Amherst, died unexpectedly Tuesday, December 2, 2008.
Ade was born in Austria to the late Adolf and Elsa Pischloger Schreiber. As a family, they immigrated to the United States in 1951, residing in Cleveland. In 1965 he graduated from West Technical High School, Cleveland. For years Ade was employed in retail sales. Through his parents encouragement he obtained his real estate credentials in 1970 and worked the real estate market on the westside of Cleveland eventually moving to Amherst in 1980. He then founded Home Mark Realty and Investments which he maintained until his passing.
His interests and hobbies include fishing and boating, music, playing tennis and in the past playing basketball. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan and Ohio State Buckeye fan.
Ade’s pride and joy were his grandchildren and he loved spending time with them. He was a benevolent person and he gave to people he met throuhgout his lifetime in any way he could.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years Marlene H. (nee Bound); three children; Kurt (Deanna) Schreiber of Lorain, Brian (Christy) Schreiber of Lorain, Holly (Tobias) Bird of Midland, Michigan; and four grandchildren; Amanda, Sophia, MaKayla, and Luke.
Family will receive friends at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst, Friday 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be noon Saturday at the funeral home. Cremation provided by Cromco Services, Elyria with private family burial in Crown Hill Cemetery, Amherst. The family requests memorials to the Salvation Army, 2506 Broadway Avenue, Lorain, OH 44052.

So long old friend, you’ll certainly be missed. For those of you reading this who didn’t know AJ, he was an intelligent business man, and one of the kindest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. My deepest condolences to the Schreiber family and friends.
